Roger Federer has done it, winning his seventh Wimbledon title with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 win over Andy Murray at the All England Club. With the win, he’ll take over the No. 1 ranking for the first time since May, 2010, equaling Pete Sampras’ record of 286 weeks at No. 1. Murray leaves as the first British men’s finalist in 74 years, but comes up short in his quest to be the first champion since Fred Perry in 1936.
