The Daily Bagel is your dose of the interesting reporting, writing and quipping from around the Internet.

• Video: Roger Federer is now an ambassador for Moet & Chandon. But remember, Roger, champions drink responsibly.

• Late-morning news from The New York Times: John Isner is parting with coach Craig Boynton.

• Tennis is solidly represented in SI‘s celebrity picks for Sportsperson of the Year. Unabashed Federer fan Lindsey Vonn goes with, well, Federer, and Kendrick Lamar selects Serena Williams.

• Sports on Earth looks at four athletes who reshaped sports and includes one name tennis fans know well: Billie Jean King.

If the progress of history entails clearing aside nonsense, King has shoved unusual mountains of it. Something within her allowed her to drive her combine right on over the things that halt so many people, the fears of criticism and ostracism and hate mail. Something within her also enabled her to endure as an unquestioned protagonist, as if it somehow came through to just enough people that she wanted better things for both genders.

• Newly retired Juan Carlos Ferrero will still be in the game. He’s going to serve as a part-time coach to Nicolas Almagro next year.

• WTA Backspin’s year in review is, as always, thorough and highly entertaining.

• Steve Tignor, in a lovely read, recounts his five favorite memories from 2012.

• The ATP rolls out its list of the Comebacks of the Year.

• A collection of tennis players who have made it onto stamps in their own countries, including Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

• A statue of Guillermo Vilas has been unveiled in Argentina.

•Want to know what Adidas has in store for its stable in 2013? Here’s a preview.

• Non-tennis: You Chose Wrong, a Tumblr compiling the most tragic endings from the Choose Your Own Adventure books.

You missed the biggest tennis related nomination for Sportsperson of  the Year. Charles Barkley nominating Andy Murray. A mainstream, big four sport American athlete giving love to a European tennis player. Busts the stereotypes and gives some positive ink to tennisland

Love the link to "You Chose Wrong." Somehow there must be a tennis equivalent, yes? "You are match point down in the tiebreak and miss your first serve. But your second serve is a hard-to-handle kicker and your opponent bunts the ball high and short. You move forward with great racquet preparation for what will be an easy winner. Suddenly, though, you are inspired to attempt a difficult drop shot rather than the obvious easy volley. You hit the drop shot into the net. Your coach in the stands swats his forehead and grimaces. You stand there foolishly as your opponent thrusts his clenched fists skyward at your unexpected gift. The End."
