Caroline Wozniacki goes dark

Caroline Wozniacki tries out a new look. (Facebook)

Caroline Wozniacki loves herself a good prank. The former No. 1 hasn’t met a press conference she didn’t want to crash, and her penchant for imitations is, unfortunately, well-documented. Bless her for her perseverance. She just won’t stop trying.

On Thursday, the Dane went for the ol’ “Hey guys, I got a crazy new haircut” trick on her Facebook page, posting a picture of herself with a chic raven bob. I wonder what the occasion was for Wozniacki to mix things up with the wig? She’d fit right in at a Pulp Fiction costume party, that’s for sure.

Too bad we already got punked by one Maria Sharapova, who caused quite the outrage when she posted a more feasible wig-job on her Facebook page last April. Poor Caroline. Will she ever get a practical joke right?

Wozniacki is back in Monte Carlo training after spending a few days with her golfing boyfriend, Rory McIlroy, in the Swiss Alps. Her next tournament is the Qatar Open, which begins Feb. 11.

She didn't go as dark as Lindsay Vonn.

I read that this tennis star is from Denmark. I used to live in Denmark. There I saw some of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in my life after having toured or lived in every European country and many throughout the world. But this girl did not look Danish, and not half as good as a single one of them who loved on my street in Denmark.  Then I saw on the internet somewhere that she is originally from Poland, which makes total sense, where I saw not even one truly pretty girl. When they mention Pulp Fiction in this article about this black hair do, there is no mistaking this tennis star Caroline for the gorgeous actress who donned the same black hair do in the movie Pulp Fiction--there is no comparison between this ok looking tennis star and the drop dead gorgeous, model/actress, they could never be confused for the other! Each should just stick to the job they do best without ridiculous innuendos. More importantly: This tennis star should knock out the nasty Russian/Belarussian girl who now holds the number one tennis spot. Caroline seems much nicer and respectable, and she could probably do it, as hard as she works. I don't think she would ever con time to win a match she was failing just to win it unfairly like the Belarussian did.  Shame on her, they should take back that title. Get on with the tennis, Polish-pretending-to-be-Danish tennis star, and kick the nasty girls behinds! The tennis world would appreciate it.

What an immature article! Don't know who wrote this but I do know that it makes SI.COM look bad.

You know, I'm not a big Caroline Wozniacki fan but it seems too fashionable for the press to bash her any chance they get.  This was clearly a wig and not meant to "fool" anyone.  If SI wants to bash her, bash her game or lack of fire power but this criticism makes SI seem more childish than Caroline in my opinion.

She keeps trying, but she doesn't have the knack.  One day she'll either pull one off or offend a whole nation (or both).

Gosh she looks so old in that picture.  Don't change your hand color,  sunshine.

@Kat3 Wozniacki's parents are Polish, but she was born in Denmark.

@PhilSmith1 Courtney Nguyen wrote it (see very top of page), and you're absolutely right.
