Juan Martin del Potro survived a gallant push by Michael Llodra in Marseille, winning 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 to advance to the quarterfinals where he’ll face another Frenchman, Gilles Simon.
Midway through the match, Del Potro figured he’d take a quick breather and take a picture of a front-row fan using her own camera phone. I guess we can add this to the Argentine’s growing highlight reel of endearing extra-curricular activities during play.
There was that time he threw his shoes into the crowd at Wimbledon after his match was suspended:
That time he teased a ball boy at Wimbledon:
That time he needed a hug from a linesman at the Australian Open
That time he ran into the crowd because when the big man gets moving it takes him some time to stop:
That time he carefully rescued a moth, scared a court-side photographer and lit up the crowd at Arthur Ashe, all in one match.
