Maria Sharapova graces the cover of the June issue of Esquire Latin America. It’s the first time an international edition of the magazine went with two different covers for its print and online editions. You can see more pictures from her beachy photo shoot here.

In the accompanying interview, Sharapova reveals that she’s planning to launch her Sugarpova candy brand in London and Paris later this year; reiterates her love for fashion designers Alexander McQueen, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and Bottega Veneta; and says she finally understands why men are obsessed with watches.

“Men, unlike women, do not wear much jewelry or rotate accessories daily,” she said. “So a watch is an important fashion statement to them, and the value of a piece is maintained over time. Every man should own a good watch that will be useful for any holiday occasion.”

So there you go, gentlemen. Go out there and buy yourselves something nice.

I know this must have made the women in Latin America mad, they have far prettier women there than this Russian and what about the female tennis players there I know this didn't sit too well with them, what were you thinking Esquire?

Sorry Maria, but I've never cared for jewelry of any kind including watches.

@opaque that is the funniest comment on a set of pictures of a beautiful woman I've ever seen.  Thank you.
