Daily Bagel: Photos surface of Maria Sharapova, Grigor Dimitrov together

The Daily Bagel is your dose of the interesting reporting, writing and quipping from around the Internet.

• Video: Andy Murray answers some questions posed to him by some of his tourmates, including Novak Djokovic, Tomas Berdych and Gilles Simon. Stick it out to the end. You’re going to have to clear your own plates, Novak.

• It was bound to happen: Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov get papped walking the streets of Madrid snuggling. So yes, it’s official.

• The filmmakers behind the Venus and Serena documentary sit down with IndieWire and reveal some of the cut footage that will turn into DVD extras.

Some of my favorite scenes are with Venus. She loves to read comic books. Particularly, she loves Hellboy. And so she’d go between matches at the Australian Open and spend hours searching through piles of old comics at comic book stores to find ones that she might not have read. The other thing that’s really interesting is that she has a serious candy habit. I think she had to kick it because of the Sjogren’s diagnosis, but we have this great footage of her in an old candy shop, and her sort of like skipping around the shop with a big smile on her face almost like she’s liking this more than Wimbledon. And you know, you just can’t imagine Roger Federer skipping around a candy store.

• The ever-witty Alix Ramsey puts her spin on the L’Affair Stephens:

Quite what prompted Stephens to have a pop at Serena is anyone’s guess but it was not the smartest of moves. Her beef with La Williams? The world No.1 unfollowed her on Twitter and doesn’t talk to her much. As hanging offences go, it is not exactly up there with regicide and international espionage but, then again, Stephens has only just waved her teenage years goodbye – and you know what teenagers are like: it is all about them; the world revolves around their navels. When Miss S unseated Miss W in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, she thought she had made it. And when Miss W tweeted a while later “I made you”, Miss S believed that the jibe was meant for her. Well, who else could it have been aimed at? Was there anyone else of note on the planet? Clearly not.

• How will Bernard Tomic react if his father does get a lifetime ban from tennis? This AAP story opens with the perfect line: “It was the making of Mary Pierce but the breaking of Jelena Dokic.”

• Sara Errani has been blogging for the WTA from Madrid.

• Non-tennis: A camera-mounted Peregrine Falcon swoops down and kills a duck mid-air.
