Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic played an exhibition in Colombia.

Maria Sharapova lost an exhibition to Ana Ivanovic over the weekend in Bogota, Colombia, in her first match in nearly four months.

Sharapova had not played since a second-round loss to Sloane Stephens at the Western & Southern Open in mid-August. She missed the U.S. Open and the fall season with a shoulder injury.

“After months of not competing, tonight was a baby step forward!” Sharapova tweeted. “I missed this so much! Thank you Colombia for such a warm welcome. #imback.”

Sharapova also used the trip as an opportunity to launch her Sugarpova candy line in Colombia.

Here are highlights, photos and tweets from the two players in South America:

Great photos of Ana.  Good luck this coming season Ana.  This might have been an exhibition but you can beat Maria if you focus on your game.

Somehow I don't see Maria's shoulder allowing her to win much anymore.

If only Ana could beat players like Maria in matches that actually count. *sobs*
