When Roger Federer throws an event dubbed “A night with Roger & Friends,” one can assume that “friends” doesn’t just mean his next-door neighbors. Wednesday’s fundraising event in Australia, held in honor of the 10-year anniversary of Federer’s first Australian Open victory and taking over the No. 1 ranking for the first time, featured an exhibition match between Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. In addition, Pat Rafter, Tony Roche and Lleyton Hewitt were part of the on-court formalities.
However, the highlight of the event (no offense, Tsonga) was when Rod Laver himself took the court to help Federer warm up.
