The outspoken Dmitry Tursunov called out Rafael Nadal after receiving a soft warning for taking too much time between points during his first-round match against Grigor Dimitrov at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.

“How much am I over?” Tursunov asked umpire Cedric Mourier during a changeover. “As much as Rafa or less?”

Mourier, who did not assess the 28th-ranked Tursunov a formal warning, told him he was a few seconds over the ATP’s 25-second rule. Tursunov scoffed.

“I think Rafa is eight seconds over and nobody ever gives him a warning,” Tursunov said.

Later, Tursunov added: “Rafa will pick his ass for 30 seconds and you guys will watch it. You’re not going to say a word.”

Watch the exchange below:

Tursunov lost to Dimitrov 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Dimitri Tsuris-nov would do better to spend this time working on his game rather than kvetching about Rafa Nada.

Pani Tsurisnov doth protest too much.  Better he spend this time practicing rather than kvetching.

Tursanov was losing so he was agitated.  However, Rafa does get a lot of soft warnings and many actual warnings.  Personally, I hate this rule.  Tennis is an individual sport; can you imagine golfers having a time limit when they are trying to line up a shot?  I'm with John McEnroe -- unless an opponent complains, they should let the players play.  If they are going to have this rule, they need to lengthen the time slightly, time should not start until the umpire calls the score thus allowing for crowd reaction to die down after a great point and they should have a time clock on the court so the players have something to reference.

This train left the station a long time ago. The time to call Nadal out was 2005.

True. Rafa cheats all the time and gets away with it

Other players have had footfaults that were constantly ignored while Serena's Alleged footfaults were pounced on. Officiating can be tough to do, but they really should try to be more consistent.

What he said is true, like him or not. Nadal is the most blatant time violator and yet no umpire said a word. It's a disgrace! Gosh, how much I hate seeing his hand-to-ass-to-nose-to-ears-and-repeat ritual :-((

Look at the reaction of the woman in blue blazer in the seat directly behind Tursunov!!! I think she's one of the officials of the tournament...

Professional tennis player, Tursunov? Total lack of focus on the task at hand. Not a wonder he lost the match.

@sasha33 All players including Rafa question the umpire when agitated. Nothing wrong with Tursunov arguing it sometimes leads to a victory. Just ask Wawrinka
